I have been out filling many pots at grave-sites this past week. Making them beautiful for Memorial Day. Memorial Day is meant for remembering those who have died in service. It is also a time when people remember loved ones passed by decorating their graves with floral tributes. Never take your family and friends for granted because you don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Be kind, compassionate and forgiving because you never want to regret what was left unsaid or undone. When memorializing a grave-site with florals there are several options. Fresh mixed pots of Geraniums/Spike/Vinca , permanent silk arrangements -either wreaths headstone topper or cemetery cones. Both of these options are great choices because they do not require perfect weather conditions to thrive. The first choice can survive on minimal watering and the later does not need any care or maintenance at all. If you are not concerned about longevity then fresh bouquets/wreaths can be a nice choice too. Your local florist can assist in creating perfect displays. At our shop we can send you along with something or deliver them ourselves!
Each springtime we are faced with the task of creating unique designs to our Shop for Mother’s Day. We are not wire service so we shop around for containers that are affordable and pretty that we can use to display in our store and our Website that will appeal to those shopping for Mother’s Day. It is a bit tricky because we need to accommodate all budgets and tastes. But we also have to be mindful to get it right because we will fill these containers, take pictures and display them as our offerings for Moms. A few weeks prior we pre-order flowers in order to get a decent price based on our final pictures and recipes. This year our premium design is a rustic porcelain Picture filled with blooms that look like they were picked straight from a French Garden. It includes Larkspur, roses, alstromeria, daisys, gyp, fuji mums, ferns and a seed pack for those inspired to garden themselves. It is a decent size and quite weighty and lovely. Whether your floral gesture is petite or grand it is a sentiment Mom’s all over have loved for decades. Nothing makes a smile blossom like flowers.
